Conversation with Richard Dawkins - April 12, 2014
I was asked to videotape the event at the Hoyt Sherman. I had two Panasonic HVX-2000A cameras and had my actor run the static two shot camera on the main floor. I ran the panning camera on the balcony. I also went to the house party and Dawkins was a bit of an ass to me. I was initially to be paid but wasn't. Not sure if I paid my camera guy. I did have Dawkins answer my question in his book.
Windfall Films - Feb & March 2008
I worked several large building moves for Windfall Films. The Murillo Building was moved down the street in Monster Moves Season 3, episode 5, "Historic Hulks". Also known as Impossible Moves on National Geographic US, Huge Moves on National Geographic International and Mega Moves on Discovery Channel & TLC.
October 14, 2014 - John Waters
I wanted to include filthy director, John Waters, in my President George Bush mask project. He was giving a talk "Warhol & Waters: Fame& Filth" at the Hoyt Sherman in Des Moines. He was bold and filthy on stage but was shy. I told him I wanted to take photos in the filthy bathroom and he said no. He said I should have contacted his people. Right. Rachel Tone and Bob Schulte sat in another part of the building and then Rachel helped me by standing by myside while photographing legless friend Jay Brummel and then Waters and a stranger. I took a photo of the bathroom earlier and merged the photos.
Art I Saw
I have been to many museums but can't remember all the places and dates.

Manifesto
The thirteen-part film installation Manifesto, produced by Berlin-based film and video artist Julian Rosefeldt, is an homage to the explosive poetic power of key artist manifestos from the last hundred years. Australian actor Cate Blanchett plays thirteen different characters who navigate everyday situations. Here are my photos and some of the manifesto text. You can watch each video at https://www.julianrosefeldt.com/film-and-video-works/manifesto-_2014-2015/
I Love New York 2001-2002
I drove to NYC the day after the attack, had vehicle trouble in Ohio, and drove back to Iowa. I took a bus out Thursday and arrived in NYC on Friday 9/14 to take photographs. After a short stay, I returned and began sending 364 photo post cards to random New Yorkers expressing Iowa's support for them. I received over 45 emails, cards, and letters in return. All photos with the I love NY motif were setup by me.
November 2012- US Postal Service - 'Thanks Vets' video
I was hired to create a US Postal Service 'Thank You' video for Hawkeye District employees who served in the military. I think the postal employees are great and doubly great for serving in the US Military.
Julyish 2000 - 2002 Black and White
I took a B/W DMACC - Ankeny photo class. It was mostly middle aged women and the instructor told me I could not develop my "bimbo" photos. Bob Schulte, an occasional art Grandview College instructor, invited me to develop B/W film for the State Fair photo contest. I keep going back. At some point another instructor noticed I was not a student and told me to come only when he was there. I might have used B/W into late 2002 or early 2003 as I have a photos of B/W Todd G 2003 license plate. This is just a sample of the B/W era.
