Homage to a Catalonian Christmas 2006-2007

The thirteen-part film installation Manifesto, produced by Berlin-based film and video artist Julian Rosefeldt, is an homage to the explosive poetic power of key artist manifestos from the last hundred years. Australian actor Cate Blanchett plays thirteen different characters who navigate everyday situations. Here are my photos and some of the manifesto text. I videotaped Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour talking about this album which he produced and performed on. The video was shot in his house and combined with the band talking about the EP.. TrustKill Records put the video on Youtube and I am listed in the credits on the EP. My footage starts at 1:30. Below is a screen shot of the video and Trustkill's version. They increased the whites and decreased the blacks for an effect but the face loses detail. If any one has an vinyl version of this, contact me.

I was an extra sitting in the bar. Rose McGowan brought some donuts I think.

I wanted to include filthy director, John Waters, in my President George Bush mask project. He was giving a talk "Warhol & Waters: Fame& Filth" at the Hoyt Sherman in Des Moines. He was bold and filthy on stage but was shy. I told him I wanted to take photos in the filthy bathroom and he said no. He said I should have contacted his people. Right. Rachel Tone and Bob Schulte sat in another part of the building and then Rachel helped me by standing by myside while photographing legless friend Jay Brummel and then Waters and a stranger. I took a photo of the bathroom earlier and merged the photos.

I created a book for a friend and included photos of our time together.

I photographed Jordan Weber and his assistant at the Des Moines Art Center. I also included other Weber related photos.

My card is based on Francisco Goya's c. 1799 Los Caprichos. Television is a great contributor to the sleep of reason. Click the top corner of the web page to contact me.
