Stone Sour - August 20 2010

The thirteen-part film installation Manifesto, produced by Berlin-based film and video artist Julian Rosefeldt, is an homage to the explosive poetic power of key artist manifestos from the last hundred years. Australian actor Cate Blanchett plays thirteen different characters who navigate everyday situations. Here are my photos and some of the manifesto text. I have always been a purger of stuff. But throwing away my art hurts me the most. I have tossed out art, photographs, and negatives. I have thrown out mementos like bike ride patches, bike medals and purchases from overseas, like a Lomo camera kit purchased in Melbourne. I had over 40 film festival catalogs, threw them out, got them all back, threw them out and have about 1/2 now. I don't have my first anything. It makes me sad and I don't do it any more. I am always trying to locate these items or try to recreate it.

A video that I got into N film festivals. I used a terrible consumer camera with on camera mic. Yikes. It sucked.

I photographed Jordan Weber and his assistant at the Des Moines Art Center. I also included other Weber related photos.

Oliver Stone released the film W about President George Bush. I believe there was a 'Mashup Contest' of some sort. Here is my entry. Still need to find info on the contest.

A video that I got into film festivals.

I created a book for a friend and included photos of our time together.

Jones Soda used one of my photos for their Soda. They printed my name on the bottle, it is my photo, but the city, the Bronx, is incorrect. I took the photo in Downtown Des Moines, Iowa.

I was a traffic control production assistant for one day in the Drake area on University Avenue. I don't recall doing much.
