Iowa State Fair Parkers - August 2014

I took a B/W DMACC - Ankeny photo class. It was mostly middle aged women and the instructor told me I could not develop my "bimbo" photos. Bob Schulte, an occasional art Grandview College instructor, invited me to develop B/W film for the State Fair photo contest. I keep going back. At some point another instructor noticed I was not a student and told me to come only when he was there. I might have used B/W into late 2002 or early 2003 as I have a photos of B/W Todd G 2003 license plate. This is just a sample of the B/W era.

Oliver Stone released the film W about President George Bush. I believe there was a 'Mashup Contest' of some sort. Here is my entry. Still need to find info on the contest.

I photographed Jordan Weber and his assistant at the Des Moines Art Center. I also included other Weber related photos.

The thirteen-part film installation Manifesto, produced by Berlin-based film and video artist Julian Rosefeldt, is an homage to the explosive poetic power of key artist manifestos from the last hundred years. Australian actor Cate Blanchett plays thirteen different characters who navigate everyday situations. Here are my photos and some of the manifesto text. Two of my friends are Rachel and Catherine tone, decendants of the Des Moines, Iowa, tone spices company. I have created some tone spice related art for the tones.
